Woody Guthrie Folk Festival - Okemah, OK

The Woody Guthrie Folk Festival is held annually in mid-July to commemorate the life and music of Woody Guthrie. The festival is held on the weekend closest to July 14 - the date of Guthrie's birth - in Guthrie's hometown of Okemah, Oklahoma. Daytime main stage performances are held indoors at the Brick Street Cafe and the Crystal Theater. Evening main stage performances are held outdoors at the Pastures of Plenty. The festival is planned and implemented annually by the Woody Guthrie Coalition, a non-profit corporation, whose goal is simply to ensure Guthrie's musical legacy. The event is made possible in part from a grant from the Oklahoma Arts Council. Mary Jo Guthrie Edgmon, Woody Guthrie's younger sister, is the festival's perennial guest of honor.

IBMA Awards Show - Raleigh, NC

The 28th Annual International Bluegrass Music Association Awards Show will be hosted by Béla Fleck and Abigail Washburn, acclaimed artists in their respective careers and GRAMMY winners in their duo work. The theme for this Awards Show is The Bluegrass Songbook, a common language spoken by bluegrass musicians the whole world over, and a context for one-of-a-kind pairings of stellar musicians in musical performance that bridge styles, generations and borders. We're excited to present an evening of thrilling collaborations you could only find at the IBMA Awards Show, playing the songs we all love best.

The awards recognize outstanding achievement and pioneering efforts in almost two dozen categories, and the show features outstanding performances by the best in bluegrass and once-in-a-lifetime moments, such as Tony Rice's indescribably poignant Hall of Fame acceptance speech in 2013. The 2017 Awards Show will be held Thursday, September 28 at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts, Memorial Hall in the City of Oaks, lovely Raleigh, NC.
