Who We Are and What We Do

Wayne and Robyn Rogers owned Strings’N’Things Music Center in Titusville Florida before creating Gold Tone Banjo company. While running both companies simultaneously, a drum teacher for S’N’T walked over to an open back old-time banjo that was in pieces but had a Gold Tone goatskin head tightened to the pot and gave it a whack. The sound of just one tap made him run to grab his sticks out of the lesson room and back to the banjo. He began testing beats, brought the pot assembly over to Wayne and said, "Can you make these for drum shell." Hence EarthTone Drumhead company was born. Earthtone now uses calfskin and is ran by Wayne & Robyn’s daughter Amanda.
