This neck is an updated replica of the wider and deeper pre-war-style Gibson neck made for B?la Fleck?s Style 75 banjo decades ago by John Monteleone. Built of mahogany to the same specs as the neck on the Gold Tone ?Bluegrass Heart? B?la Fleck signature model, it?s wider than ?standard? (nut width 1 9/32?), with a 26.25? scale length, a compound radius ebony fretboard and jumbo frets. It?s equipped with Gold Tone?s patented ZeroGlide nut (as installed on B?la?s Style 75 for the last eight years). A satin finish (?speed neck?) reduces friction to promote easier position changes. The ebony fretboard, rosewood headstock veneer and B?la?s custom inlay (based on the popular ?flying eagle? motif) are the icing on the cake. This neck will enhance the low and midrange frequencies of any Mastertone-style pot and can help you achieve a fuller and more expressive tonal palette.
*The stock Bluegrass Heart neck has a 2.5 degree flat heel, cut for non-flange style banjos. We strongly recommend that you send your banjo pot to Gold Tone to have our expert luthiers precision-fit this neck on your pot for you.
