The Centenario is a first-class handmade classical guitar built to celebrate the first 100 years of José Ramírez guitars. It is an instrument made only out of the most select, beautiful woods we can find. The Centenario was designed by José Ramírez III, and continues to amaze anyone who hears or sees it thanks to its exquisite design, construction, and sound.

The Centenario is based on the construction of our Tradicional Classical Guitar, and uses solid cypress double sides alongside a solid Madagascar rosewood or solid Brazilian rosewood back. A solid spruce or solid cedar top completes the guitar's main body. This guitar can be made with a chambered body. Other customizations available include three scale lengths and the option for 6-, 8-, or 10-strings.

José Ramírez I founded his workshop in Madrid, Spain in 1882 after he began training at the age of 12 in 1870 under Francisco González. José Ramírez I began that training in 1870 at just 12 years old. The tradition of guitar making began to be passed down through the generations of the Ramírez family since then. The Centenario commemorates those first 100 years as we look forward to the ensuing century of iteration, creation, and artistic passion.
