José Ramírez Tradicional Serranito Handcrafted Guitar

Our Tradicional Serranito Handcrafted Guitar is named after the famed flamenco guitarist Victor "Serranito" Monge Serrano and based on the first flamenco-influenced Tradicional classical guitar made by José Ramírez III for Serranito. This model is a tribute to the maestro and to his decades-long friendship to the José Ramírez family. Serranito found in this guitar all that he was looking for: brightness, balance, color, power, and a "very flamenco" sound.

The Tradicional Serranito is an ideal guitar for the flamenco solo guitarist and will fill an auditorium with its beautiful sound. The instrument's sides and back are typically made of Indian rosewood, which provides a lovely, deep sound, but the Serranito can instead be ordered with sides and back made of several other types of exotic rosewoods. The solid cedar top can also be swapped to a solid spruce top if desired. Further customization options include a cámara chambered body, Aparicio mechanical tuners or peghead mechanical imitation wood peg tuners, and a variety of scale lengths.

Serranito began playing guitar at the age of eight in 1950 and was largely self-taught. His talents for flamenco guitar saw him begin to play professionally at the age of 12 alongside his brothers in the group Los Serranos, and he earned the nickname of "Serranito" as he was the youngest of the three. Serranito has performed worldwide since the 1970s. He released his first solo album and received the "National Prize of Guitar - Ramón Montoya" in 1971. Serranito is credited with introducing the three finger picado technique to flamenco. He retired from playing professionally in 2021 after a long career.
